Thomas (Tom) is a highly experienced geoscientist and archaeologist specialising in palaeoenvironmental reconstructions and biostratigraphy across both industry and academia. He was an active field archaeologist and geoarchaeologist for almost a decade before transitioning into a successful geoscience research career in 2012. Tom has since led extensive geological fieldwork campaigns in multiple countries and has worked with companies and universities large and small, including: BP, Fugro, BHP Billiton, SKM, MOLA, Utrecht University, Brunel University London, University of Bristol, amongst others.
Tom has an expert specialism in palynology with experience spanning the Cenozoic and particular specialism in the Miocene, Pliocene, Pleistocene and Holocene time periods (including Quaternary and Holocene archaeological time-frames). Tom completed a BA(Hons) Archaeology (University of Leicester, 2006), an MSc Geoarchaeology (University of Reading, 2013), and received his PhD in Earth Sciences (Utrecht University, 2019). Tom is a Fellow of the Geological Society of London (FGS) and a Visiting Research Associate in the School of Geographical Sciences at the University of Bristol.
Tom has authored and co-authored numerous papers in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented at many conferences worldwide. Tom set up ArcStrata to address a need for integrated geo-consultancy and specialist palaeoenvironmental, biostratigraphic & age-dating services by clients in the construction, energy and archaeology/heritage sectors.

Botanist | Palynologist | Palaeoecologist
Saúl is an expert botanist specializing in Mediterranean, Temperate and Southern African Flora. He specialises in plant identification and palynological analysis for a variety of applications in academia and industry. He has over 10 years’ experience in the analysis of pollen content in honeys (for authentication and fraud identification purposes), air (pollen allergy risk control) and Quaternary sediments (for palaeoecological reconstructions).
Saúl completed a BSc, majoring in botany (Complutense University of Madrid, 2012), and completed an MSc Biodiversity and Environmental Management and a PhD in Palaeoecology and Palynology at the University of Murcia (2013 and 2018 respectively). He has given numerous presentations at international conferences as well as authoring/co-authoring several peer-reviewed papers and book chapters.
Saúl holds a lecturing position at the University of León (Spain) and is a Research Fellow of the Compton Herbarium, at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (Cape Town, South Africa). He has led extensive research across southern Europe and southern Africa and has collaborated with researchers around the world.
